New Monitor offers Durability, Flow Efficiency and Control

Elkhart, Ind. (March 24, 2011) Elkhart Brass’ new Scorpion EXM is the second monitor to incorporate the EXM operating system. Designed for fire apparatus, AARF, military and de-icing vehicles, the Scorpion EXM is a high-tech, high-flow remote controlled water cannon that can be integrated with other truck systems for unprecedented control. The monitor features exceptional flow efficiency up to 3000 GPM and a durable design with NEMA 6 (full submersion) sealed electronics.

Company officials are particularly enthusiastic about the technological capabilities of the Scorpion EXM. Eric Comb, product market director, explains, “Scorpion EXM’s advanced technology is as impressive as it is easy to use. We engineered this product to be integrated with other truck systems, provide highly versatile communications capabilities and be upgradeable to accommodate advances in the future. Scorpion EXM allows for wired or wireless communication via panel-mount or handheld controller, joystick or OEM-sourced controller or switches. It is CAN bus J1939 and PLC compatible. The improved controls allow fire departments to design a better, more effective apparatus.

In addition to the EXM functionality, the Scorpion has been further updated to employ a new ultra high efficient waterway and axially aligned thrust bearings for a 22 percent increase in flow efficiency, versus the traditional Scorpion, and ten times greater durability.
The Scorpion EXM is on display at FDIC in Elkhart Brass booth #9225 in Lucas Oil Stadium.
